Beast Trainer

You form a close bond with a beast companion and mold your fighting style around fighting in tandem with it. You gain special abilities that allow you to establish a closer bond with them. Fighting individually you are fairly weak, but together you can unleash powerful combo attacks.

1 - Technique Specialization (Magic)

You gain 2 technique points at level 1, then another point every 2 levels after. These technique points can be used on the shroomlette or earth mother tree.

Characters with magical specialization gain points in wild card equal to their highest tier of magic technique and cantrips.

1 - Beast Companion [companion]

You gain the service of a specific animal to aid you on your journey. It grows more powerful as you do. More rules on beast companions in the beast companion section.

1 - Tandem Strike

When you take the attack action, your beast companion can also use its attack action to attack the same creature. You both get +2 to your attack. This bonus also applies if you make an AoO against the same creature. This attack counts as one attack for the purposes of applying DR.

When you use this feature and one strike is enough to defeat the creature, the other is consumed and you cannot use your companion's strike on another.

1 - Teamwork, Dreamwork

Gain a teamwork feat. Your beast companion shares all of your teamwork feats.

1 - Specialized Training

Select one of the following options that will shape your companion. Mount - Beast companion grows to size large. You can ride bareback without issue. Prey Seeker - Beast companion gains the sprint or speed upgrade. It gains seeking against any foe you attack with tandem strike.

1 - Druidic

You learn the secret language, druidic. In text form it can only be seen by other creatures that know druidic. You can essentially write secret messages by touching your finger to any natural object (typically boulders and trees) and writing. Any message written in this way can be erased by a creature that knows druidic with ease.

1 - Carry-On Companion (Su)

As a standard action, you can touch your beast companion to transform it into a handheld action figure version of itself. As a standard action, you can toss it into an adjacent space to transform it back. If left in figurine form for too long, your companion will free itself when it gets hungry.

2 - Nature Stride

When traveling through natural terrain that restricts your movement, such as thick snow or dense jungle, you and your beast companion's speed are not affected. All allies that can see you or your beast companion also gain this benefit. After not seeing either of you for a few minutes, your allies lose this benefit.

2 - Beast Trainer Actions

Gain 2 of these actions. Every 2 levels thereafter, gain another.

All of these attacks must be used with Tandem Strike. Use DC of either you or your companion to determine its DC. These actions deal d6/odd lvl bonus damage have a bonus effect IF both you and your beast companion successfully hit/poise break the target creature.

3 - Beast Trainer Bond

You can speak with your beast companion as though you shared a language. Other creatures cannot understand you unless they can speak with animals.

4 - Adaptation [mana burn]

You can mana burn any amount to grant an equal number of adaptation points to your beast companion indefinitely. When you remove this adaptation, you are no longer mana burned.
